Certified translation for Switzerland

Notarial certification is often requested for official documents issued abroad that require translation into a national language before submission to local authorities. This verifies the authenticity of the certified translator’s signature.

Certified translation for abroad

Foreign authorities often request the additional verification service of apostille authentication, which is provided by the Swiss Federal Chancellery. This confirms the authenticity of the notary's signature. If you so wish, we will provide you not only with a translation, but will also have the apostille affixed at the Federal Chancellery.

Documents that frequently require official translation:

  • Deeds and records (birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates)

  • Certificates and diplomas (e.g. school certificates, university degrees)

  • Job references

  • Driving licences

  • Passports, identity cards, residence certificates

  • Identity cards, proof of citizenship

  • Family register extracts

  • Powers of attorney, wills

  • Court documents (e.g. judgments, statements of claim)

  • Commercial register extracts

  • Tax statements

  • Insurance policies

  • Medical reports, attestations, doctor's certificates and reports

  • Contracts (e.g. rental contracts, employment agreements, purchase agreements)

  • Bank documents (e.g. account statements, loan agreements)

  • Documents relating to patents and copyright

  • Regulatory approvals, permits and certificates
